The legendary duet of the Soviet circus
For a little more than 55 years, Rumyantsev was employed in the circus. A full house in the hall was always guaranteed when his name appeared on the poster. He played the role of a tramp at first, which Charlie Chaplin invented, but since 1935 he has developed a brand-new, original comic character that he has named after the well-known French cartoonist Karan D’ash.

Nix, a black terrier, instantly fit Pencil, giving the impression that they had been working together in the arena their entire lives. Nix also brightened up his stage persona.
