Release form and composition
The drug Catosal (Catosal) was created by the renowned American pharmaceutical company "Bayer."
Two factors make the medication effective:

- cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) – 0.005 g / 1 ml.
This is an injection solution that comes in bottles containing 100 milliliters. The average cost of a bottle is 900 rubles.
Indications for use
There are numerous uses for catalyst in veterinary medicine. It is used to treat diseases of different etiologies and metabolic disorders as a stimulant and tonic. Thus, prescriptions for drugs are made:
- to speed up recovery from any pathologies;
- for metabolic disorders;
- for anemia of any origin, in particular with a lack of magnesium and calcium;
- to improve the fertility of bitches and males;
- during pregnancy and in the postpartum period for the prevention and treatment of complications, as well as to accelerate recovery;
- to stimulate the growth of young animals, especially weak, premature and low-weight puppies;
- with increased loads and stress;
- to improve liver function;
- as an adjuvant for intoxications, viral, bacterial and fungal infections.
Catosal boosts the animal’s resistance to illness, quickens its recuperation, and lowers the chance of a relapse. However, it is only used in conjunction with complex therapy and is not used as a stand-alone medication.
How it works
All of the body’s systems and organs benefit from the intake. It promotes dogs’ growth, restores equilibrium to their metabolic and regenerative processes, and fortifies their defenses against harmful external stimuli.
The elements that make up the drug’s composition are what give it its complex effect.
Experts at Bayer have discovered a special substance called butaphosphan. Several pharmaceutical companies currently use the component; no comparable safe and effective alternatives have been discovered. The product contains an organic phosphorus compound, which does not cause major side effects or accumulate in the body like inorganic compounds do.
The impact of butaphosphan on an animal’s body is hard to overstate. It
- stimulates energy metabolism by improving the utilization of glucose in the blood;
- accelerates metabolic processes;
- improves liver function;
- increases the body"s resistance;
- stimulates smooth muscles;
- restores the heart muscle;
- normalizes cortisol levels in the blood;
- stimulates the production of bone tissue;
- accelerates the growth, development and recovery of pets by stimulating protein synthesis.
The benefits of cyanocobalamin, or vitamin B12, include the following:
- stimulates hematopoiesis processes;
- promotes creatine production;
- participates in the metabolism of carboxylic acids and fat;
- improves food digestibility;
- promotes methionine synthesis;
- normalizes the state of the nervous system.
Dogs are frequently given the veterinary drug catosal to increase energy, enhance metabolism, and aid in the healing process following disease or stress. Due to its vitamin and mineral content, which supports the immune system, it is a well-liked option for improving general health, particularly in cases of weakness or exhaustion in dogs. When administered correctly, Catosal is safe and can help dogs feel more vibrant and happier.
Instructions for use and dosage
Katozal is used for injections: subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous. The minimum dosage for dogs is 0.5 ml, the maximum is 5 ml. On average, pets are given 1-3 ml per 10 kg of weight.
The usual dosage schedule calls for two doses separated by one week. Nonetheless, the regimen has been altered:
- Single or double administration with an interval of 2-7 days. This regimen is used in cases of stress and increased loads, before exhibitions and competitions, loss of appetite, after operations and to stimulate fertility.
- 5-10-fold course with a break between each injection of 1-3 days. Used to improve metabolic processes, skin and coat condition, correct psychological problems, and treat exacerbations of chronic pathologies.
- Daily intake. Indicated for severe conditions of the dog: infections, serious pathologies, severe metabolic disorders.
The indicated schemes and dosages are approximate. The exact course of treatment is selected by the veterinarian for each dog, based on the severity of the disease, the condition of the animal, weight and characteristics of the body.

Valentin: "My St. Bernard typically gets eczema in the fall and spring." I’ve been taking a ten-day course during these seasons for a number of years because of this. Excellent results; no negative effects. I suggest that all dog owners use this medication as a preventative measure and keep it in their medicine cabinet.
Victoria: "My dog had postpartum titania five years ago, which is when I first met Katozal. It was injected along with calcium gluconate. The dog made a full recovery very quickly. I’ve been keeping the medication on hand ever since; I use it for upset stomachs and poisonings. This medication works for everyone, and I suggest it to everyone.
Nata: “I want to share my sad experience and warn others. We were taking puppies for docking and the vet noticed that one male was lagging behind in development. I recommended that the whole litter be injected with Katozal for a week. After the first injection, half an hour later, I went to the puppies with my mother and was stunned: the kids were lying like rags, convulsively stretching their paws in pain, their tongues hanging out and not even squeaking. I called the doctor in horror, he was also shocked. He said it was a rare case of allergy. I immediately gave everyone Gluconate and Diphenhydramine, the symptoms were removed, the babies began to move, but cried a lot. Two babies died overnight: those who were stronger and healthier survived. But they complained about their tummies for a long time".
