Ka-de-bo-all about the breed

Ka-de-Bo, also known as Cadebo, Perrault Malorkin, Major Mastiff, Bull Dog, or Mallorcan Bulldog, is the most ancient Spanish-bred security dog breed. She participated in large game hunting, guarded her homes, assisted in the distilty of livestock, and was employed in corridas and dog fights in the past.

Although it began as a family member, it is now positioned as a serious bodyguard and frequently works with the police and customs.

Strong master leaders with prior experience training and rearing fighting dogs are needed for this breed.

Features of the breed

Malta is Malorkin’s native land. He has become well-known as a brave, honorable, and loyal knight disguised as a dog. Despite its intimidating appearance, the animal is surprisingly gentle and has a kind heart.

The dog appears to be a large animal, even though its actual size is medium. A powerful, well-muscled physique results in an imposing appearance, but the body still has great flexibility and mobility.

Principal traits of the breed:

Look. A massively powerful animal with a slight squat build and lots of muscle.

Weight and height. Adult males weigh 35–38 kg, while adult females weigh 30-34 kg. Girls are notably shorter than boys in height. Males are 55–58 cm tall, while females are 52–55 cm tall.

In this breed, gender differences are not limited to size and weight; females have smaller heads than boys do.

Distinctive features

The head has a square shape. There is a distinct groove that divides the broad forehead. The muzzle is roughly triangular in shape, with a base width of one third the length of the skull. The stop is nearly invisible from the front, but it appears sharp in profile.

The teeth are full, robust, and strong. Undershot from a bulldog bite.

The rose-shaped ears are positioned high and broadly. The rounded tips of the semi-drooping ears are at eye level or slightly below it when it is calm. The ear fabric straightens and extends forward when the person is alert.

The eyes are big, oval, deeply set, and have an oblique cut. Iris color is primarily dark, though it can vary depending on the coat color.

The body is muscular, rectangular, and slightly elongated. The neck is robust and athletic, with a length that is proportionate to the body and a diameter that nearly matches the diameter of the head. The loin is broad and shortened, and the croup slopes downward. The back is straight. The chest is large and elongated. The abdomen is slightly indented.

The legs are powerful, muscular, parallel, and widely spaced. The fingers are clenched into a fist, and the paws are robust and rounded. The claws are strong and the pads are elastic with a hint of color.

The hair fits tight, is short, and is hard. An undercoat is absent. Brindle, fawn, black, and deer are the colors. It’s acceptable to wear a dark mask and tiny white marks.

The horrifying instances of these dogs’ ferocity stem from either their total or illiterate lack of socialization and education, or from the dog’s deliberate development of an aggressive personality.

Character

The Major Mastiff is the perfect mix of physical toughness and great power with a very sensitive soul, akin to that of a small kitten. In terms of psychology, it is serene, calm, and remarkably amiable.

The breed is not particularly prominent in the homes of the "favorite," or the owner. The pet tries to show affection to everyone and is equally friendly to all households. It can capture the "weather in the house" in a subtle way.

Since some sharing is normal for Cadebo, losing loved ones is accepted in the absence of a free. The dog will simply sleep and wait calmly and patiently for his owner to return when he is not at home.

Adores children’s society and enjoys playing with them accepts children pushing to the side in a kind and patient manner.

Other dogs may view domestic cats as competitors in their territory, while small pets such as birds and rodents may view it as a potential food source.

The breed demonstrates good guard qualities and handles bodyguard responsibilities well. Never acts aggressively without cause and treats strangers with mistrust but without hostility.

The enemy has no chance of winning an unfair battle if the owner’s life is in danger, so the Ca-de-Bo is unlikely to let the offender get away with it.

The pet may exhibit persistence and willfulness at specific ages. Disobedience typically relates to sexual activity and adolescence.

History of the breed

The breed has its roots in the thirteenth century. When the kingdom of Mallorca (Mallorca) was established on one of its large islands, the forefathers of the Majorcan mastiff resided on the Balearic archipelago.

Molossian dogs arrived on the island with the Aragonese conquerors and crossed with native dogs.

Animal mating is chaotic, which led to the arrival of an entirely new species of security guards in the area that the locals dubbed "Ka-de-Bulie."

The Pyrenean mastiff, English bulldog, Spanish mastiff, Bordeaux dog, and bulldog are thought to have contributed to the development of the breed.

The Balearic Islands were acquired by the British at the start of the eighteenth century with the passage of the Utrecht Act. Dog fights and using gladiator dogs to lure wild animals were popular forms of fashionable entertainment among the British at the time.

The bloody performances were well-liked by the Mallorcan populace, and by the late 1700s, bullfighting had emerged as the predominant leisure activity for the Spanish aborigines.

The Spaniards chose to breed a bulldog with a Ca de Bastiar because they needed dogs especially for baiting. Offspring of this mating resembled the contemporary Ca de Bo. Dogs were used as dog fighters’ bait and for buffalo trapping up until the mid-1800s.

Strong, devoted, and protective, the Ca de Bou breed of dog is renowned for its exceptional guarding skills and strong familial bonds. This Spanish breed, which is originally from there, is a calm and loving companion for people looking for a dependable guardian and a loving pet because of its sturdy build and sweet disposition. When trained and socialized appropriately, the Ca de Bou, despite its intimidating appearance, is kind and gentle.

There were two breed variations available at the time:
