Composition of Brit food, their advantages and disadvantages
We made the decision to evaluate the feeds from the Brit Premium and Brit Care lines independently in order to obtain an unbiased assessment. We then compared the feeds to determine which series was superior. We will assess wet and granulated diets alike.
Characteristics of Brit Care feeds
The following ingredients are included in the dry cat food Brit Care Cat Lucky for adult cats:
- dehydrated chicken (22%);
- rice;
- chicken fillet (20%);
- rice bran;
- dehydrated turkey (6%);
- chicken fat (preserved with tocopherols);
- dried apples;
- chicken liver (2%);
- salmon oil;
- brewer"s yeast;
- psyllium (200 mg / kg);
- mannano-oligosaccharides (155 mg / kg);
- fructooligosaccharides (125 mg / kg);
- Yucca Schidigera extract (85 mg/kg);

It’s excellent that an ingredient with animal origins, albeit dehydrated, holds the top spot. Regretfully, this isn’t just unadulterated meat. The manufacturer most likely makes use of entire carcasses. Although the meat is chicken fillet, only 7–8% of it remains after the water has evaporated. There are still more plant components in the feed because rice bran comes after it. Although Brit Care is categorized as premium or super-premium, it really falls in the middle. Although the line does not reach this indicator because the latter typically contain more meat, it is still superior in quality to many premium representatives.
Because the granules are fairly large, the food may not be good for all cats because it puts more strain on their teeth.
I would like to separately note that the manufacturer adds enough preventive additives. The list of ingredients includes prebiotics, yucca extract, dried apples, salmon oil, etc. . They improve digestion, reduce the unpleasant odor from feces and improve the condition of the coat and skin. From my own experience, I can say that the food is well suited for animals with increased sensitivity. After most my cat has blood in her stool. We visited the veterinarian, underwent an examination, but did not find the cause. The doctor said that this is an individual reaction to some foods. After switching to "Brit", the situation returned to normal. Of course, the quality of the food is worse than holistic ones, but it is what maintains normal digestion in my cat.

The composition is very laconic, which is commendable, but canned food is not very nutritious. For example, my cat does not get full even with two cans, despite the fact that I additionally give her dry food. Most likely, this is due to the increased water content. The liquid is even released into a separate component. For pouches, this is normal, but in the case of canned food, I would like to see a higher meat content. In addition, the manufacturer added rice. Most likely, this is done to give the necessary consistency. Although the proportion of cereals is small, it would be better if they were not included at all.

Brit Premium feed characteristic
Ingredients in Brit Premium Cat Adult Chicken Dry Food include:

It is admirable that the manufacturer even provides the additives’ weight percentage. The recipe is similar to Brit Care in general, but chicken flour is used in place of chicken fillet. As a result, there are more animal components overall. Although the food’s manufacturer claimed it belonged in the premium class, it is actually comparable to some items in the super-premium category. The presence of corn detracts from the composition. It would be preferable if peas were used in its place. It is not as harmful as corn, but it is still a worthless filler. However, the business employs natural flavors. Take chicken liver sauce, for instance.
Pillows with sharp edges can cause damage to the stomach mucous membranes if the user is hypersensitive to them.
Even with all the benefits, I can’t say that Brit Premium food is highly recommended. Animals with allergies should not use it. The two most frequent irritants are corn and chicken. I started giving my cat Brit Premium before I switched to Brit Care. The animal thus experienced red spots and baldness around the eyes. Even though I preferred this line more in terms of meat content, I had to drop it.
The ingredients of Brit Premium Cat Pouch wet food with chicken fillet are as follows:
- meat and meat by-products (82%, including 8% chicken);
- plant protein extracts;
- plant by-products (0.4% inulin);
- minerals;
- carbohydrates.
This is a regular premium complete food. The meat content is high at first glance, but in fact most of it is meat by-products. If there were more pure muscle tissue, the manufacturer would have divided these ingredients into 2 positions and indicated their percentage ratio. It is confusing that out of 82% only 8% is chicken. A logical question arises: what else does the food contain? Chicken is the cheapest type of meat. If the manufacturer has not indicated the full composition, it means that he is trying to hide something. Based on my personal impressions, I can say that the food does not inspire confidence. Before the allergy appeared, I tried giving pouches to my cat, but she began to vomit some time after eating. I suppose that this is due to the low quality of ingredients.
Brit Premium Cat Pouch wet food looks like the same pressed pieces that don’t look like meat that you would find in economy class rations.
Which is better: Brit Care or Brit Premium?
The question of which food line is superior is hard to answer. Brit Premium is a dry food that has more meat than corn. The Brit Care line is the most popular wet food. It is preferable to mix dry food Brit Premium with canned food Brit Care if the cat is not allergic to cereals. You can move the line if unfavorable individual reactions start to happen.
